Hi, I’m Jason Handel Marshall
Bio
Jason Marshall (he, him, his) is an education designer and teacher-learner. He has extensive experience in a myriad of educational settings, including charter and public schools, community-based organizations, national and international non-profits, and mental health organizations. He brings 24 years of experience as a teacher, counselor, administrator, and thought leader. Jason has worked at the intersections of content and curriculum development, anti-oppression facilitation, and designing accessible learning spaces for both young people and adult learners.
He is the Founder of Jason Marshall Consulting LLC (JMC), an anti-oppression and educational consulting firm. JMC guides communities and organizations in bringing positive systemic change to fruition.
He currently continues to evolve his practice as a teacher-learner by designing and facilitating professional learning and training for K-12 schools, PSE institutions, and various organizations. His content focuses on, but is not limited to, Anti-Oppression, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), Learning Differences, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
Additionally, he is a member of The CAST National Faculty- an elite, global group of specialists and thinkers who partner with the Center for Applied Special Technology (CAST) to promote and expand Universal Design for Learning (UDL) by developing professional development resources, creating accessible curricula, and sharing their expertise in diverse educational settings. They offer training, workshops, and consultations for educators in both PreK-12 and postsecondary environments to help make learning more flexible, accessible, and inclusive for all students
His work is informed by a deep respect for the early foundational years of learning and how they impact identity development and our sense of ourselves as learners, stretching into our adult years. His background as an athlete and coach grounds him in collective harmony, resilience in the face of challenges, and achieving tangible goals.
Jason holds a Master of Science in Student Development in Higher Education from Central Connecticut State University and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Development & Program Management from the University of Minnesota.
