About Jason Marshall Consulting

Jason Marshall Consulting LLC (JMC) is an anti-oppression and educational consulting firm that guides communities and organizations to bring positive systemic change to fruition. Founder and Principal Consultant, Jason Marshall, has years of experience in delivering personalized support to clients, from fostering critical examinations of power to analyzing systems of oppression, healing institutional culture to purposeful communication, developing intelligible action plans for creating environments grounded in principles of equity and justice, and beyond. Jason believes in education, rather than schooling, and aims to inspire people to be lifelong learners through his work. Rooted in his belief that there is an inherent responsibility for any teacher to live out the values that underpin their pedagogy, he prioritizes aligning processes in support of these values and outcomes. Walking in the footsteps of teachers such as Ella Baker, he remains steadfastly focused on learning, iteratively, while considering the habits of mind and praxis that support change, growth, and evolution.

  • “Jason…was never afraid to be honest about what it would take for us to better understand racial injustice… for us to approach our work in ways that actually allow young people to drive decisions. …He made himself available to everyone in the organization in many different ways [and] came at this work as both an expert and a learner himself. [Jason] was willing to treat our context as unique and work alongside us with patience and humor. This approach has been so important as we try to grapple with systematic racism and find what part we can play in helping to end it in our schools and workforce.”

Sam Johnston, Ed.D., Chief PostSecondary and Workforce Development Officer, CAST

  • “In his position as director of the GED-Plus program…I was impressed with how Jason assimilated into the community and with the youth in the neighborhood…becoming a leading voice for youth is not an easy feat. His skillset and character make Jason a valuable asset.”

Michael Mitchell Sr., Boston Community Leader and former Executive Director of Youth Options Unlimited (YOU Boston)
